Our Story

India's leading HSAW steel pipe manufacturer.

What began as a career move about four decades ago quickly morphed into a fulfilling passion. Today, MTL Pipes India Ltd. — promoted by the Manik Group — stands as one of India's premier manufacturers of Spiral / Helical Submerged Arc Welded mild-steel pipes, with a comprehensive portfolio of anti-corrosion coatings for the most demanding water, irrigation and infrastructure projects.

From our integrated facility at Pithampur Industrial Hub, near Indore in Madhya Pradesh, we deliver large-diameter HSAW pipes accepted by government agencies and leading EPC contractors across the country. Two fully automated welding lines, an in-house quality laboratory and five coating systems give every project a single-source solution backed by decades of group experience.

Our Pithampur facility integrates raw-material handling, two automated HSAW production lines, an in-house quality laboratory and five coating systems on a single campus.

Submerged Arc Welding

Internal & external SAW welding with continuous flux recovery, seam-tracking and online weld monitoring.

In-House Quality Lab

Destructive & non-destructive testing under one roof — ultrasonic, radiographic, mechanical & chemical.

5 Coating Systems

3 million m² annual coating capacity — FBE, PE, CTE, Liquid Epoxy & CWC, from 100 to 1,000 microns.

10 MLD Sewerage Plant

Zero waste-water discharge campus with an on-site 10 MLD sewerage treatment plant.

20% Green Cover

Manufacturing Process

From coil to coated pipe — six engineered stages.

Every pipe travels through the same controlled sequence — automated, monitored and documented at each station.

De-Coiling

HR coil de-coiled, levelled and surface-inspected.

Edge Milling

Precision edge prep for perfect helical seam geometry.

Spiral Bending

Coil formed into spiral pipe at programmed forming angle.

SAW Welding

Internal & external submerged arc welding under continuous monitoring.

Testing

Hydrotest, UT, RT, dimensional & visual inspection on every pipe.

06

Coating

Five coating systems applied internally & externally per spec.

Our quality framework integrates incoming raw-material inspection, in-process monitoring and final-product NDT — backed by Intertek-audited ISO management systems and a BIS production licence.

RAW MATERIAL

HR coils sourced from primary Indian steel producers with mill test certificates verified against project specification.

IN-PROCESS

Online edge geometry checks, weld parameter logging, ultrasonic seam testing and dimensional verification at every station.

FINAL PRODUCT

Hydrostatic testing, end-bevel inspection, coating thickness & holiday detection and full documentation pack (MTC, hydro chart, NDT reports).
