World-Class
Coating Systems
Pipes are shot blasted to Sa 2.5 standard then coated internally with Liquid Epoxy or Polyethylene and externally with PE / CTE / FBE & CWC on the most advanced systems. Coating range: 100 to 1000 microns. Annual capacity: 3 million sq. metres. Pipe range: 24″ to 128″.
Electrostatic spray-applied thermosetting powder. Superior adhesion and chemical resistance for buried pipelines.
High-density polyethylene external wrap providing excellent dielectric strength and long-term underground protection.
Proven coal tar enamel with glass fibre outer wrapping. Excellent moisture barrier widely specified for water mains.
Internal lining applied via rotary spray heads end-to-end for uniform coverage, smooth bore, and internal corrosion resistance.
Reinforced concrete over anticorrosion coating for negative buoyancy and mechanical protection in offshore applications.
3 million square metres coating per annum across all systems. Pipe range 24″ to 128″ handled in-house under one roof.
The Coating Process
For adequate surface roughness, pipes are shot blasted with a mixture of shots and grits through rotary turbines. Once the required roughness is achieved, pipes are shifted to the automated coating system for precise application.
Surface prepared to Sa 2.5 using rotary turbine blasting with mixed shots and grits for optimal coating adhesion
Rotary spray heads apply epoxy/polyethylene uniformly from one pipe end to the other under controlled conditions
Coating performed in single or double layer per specified thickness; pipe rotated on rollers during the curing process
QC verifies thickness, adhesion, and holiday (spark) test across each pipe before dispatch clearance is given
Zero-Error
Manufacturing
MTL Pipes India Limited believes in total quality management with zero error manufacturing. We adhere to all quality standards through rigorous implementation of processes in manufacturing of pipes and coatings. All raw material consumables are tested before use and standard operating procedures are strictly followed.
Our quality systems conform to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and BIS norms. To ensure rigorous quality checks, the company has installed an in-house laboratory with both destructive and non-destructive testing to ensure quality and error-free product output.
Brinell and Vickers hardness testing on every batch of raw material and finished pipe
Ultimate tensile strength and yield strength verified per IS standards on each production lot
Pipe cross-section flattening to verify weld integrity and material ductility
Mandrel drift test confirms bore dimension and internal quality of finished pipe
Non-destructive UT scanning of weld seam and pipe body for hidden defects
High voltage spark test across 100% of coated surface area before dispatch
